Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County has established a new Hamilton County Pet Food Bank in collaboration with the Hamilton County Humane Society to serve senior citizens, and families or individuals who are struggling to feed their pets due to a loss of employment or income.  Requests for pet food assistance must be made in person  at the Meals on Wheels office in Noblesville.  Donations of pet food from generous pet lovers are needed for the Pet Food Bank.  For assistance or to donate pet food, call Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County at 317.776.7159.

Many clients served by Meals on Wheels live alone, and their pets provide not only companionship but also unconditional love.  The program helps avoid the heartbreak of  a senior surrending their pet  to the shelter because pet food is unaffordable on a limited income.

Thanks to a  $1,000 grant from the Banfield Charitable Trust, Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County can meet a growing need in the community for pet food assistance, especially among Meals on Wheels clients who are struggling to feed their pets. Under the WALOP program (We All Love Our Pets), Meals on Wheels can provide pet food assistance to the elderly, disabled and homebound residents currently enrolled in daily meal service.  Once a month upon request, a bag of either cat food or dog food can be delivered to Meals on Wheels clients by volunteer drivers when regular meals are delivered. Clients can request pet food assistance by calling the Noblesville Meals on Wheels office at 317.776.7159.

Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County is a community based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to delivering nutritious meals to residents in need.
