Carmel’s mayor was one of the first performers to play on the Palladium’s stage during a private concert Wednesday night.

A crowd of about 600 invite-only spectators watched and listened as Mayor Jim Brainard, on French horn, played alongside Grammy-nominated artist and artistic director of The Center for the Performing Arts Michael Feinstein. The rehearsal kicked off the the three-month process of tuning the 1,600-seat concert hall, which is being billed as acoustically perfect. From now until the hall’s grand opening in January, numerous private rehearsals will be held allowing acousticians to determine proper settings for each type of performance.
