Please join the The Carmel Rotary Club for their dedication of the new ampitheater at 1 p.m. this Friday, July 8. The Rotary Centennial Amphitheater is located on The Center Green located south of the Palladium.  Carmel Rotarians will unveil the Rotary Wheel logo and a plaque noting that the gift was given to celebrate the Centennial of Rotary International.  The plaque says; “Dedicated in the spirit of Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self”, this community stage will serve as a gathering place for the enjoyment of families and visitors for generations to come.”

Rotary International celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2005.  In celebration, Carmel Rotary pledged to raise $100,000 toward construction of an amphitheater as part of Carmel’s City Center development.   The funds were raised over 3 years.

The entire Carmel community is invited to participate in this special dedication ceremony.

Rotary is a volunteer organization with 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas. Rotary club members represent a cross-section of business and professional leaders around the world. Rotary International is the worldwide association of Rotary clubs united under a motto of “Service Above Self”. Rotary’s flagship program is its effort to protect children against polio. It aims to eradicate the disease from the world. The Rotary Club of Carmel is responsible for many community service projects including presenting Carmelfest. Carmel Rotary funded the concept plan for Carmel’s Monon Greenway, the construction of the flowing well park shelter, Rotary plaza on the Monon, and many other service projects throughout the Carmel Clay community.

There will be a box lunch following the dedication of the Amphitheater, which is open to club members only.
