IU North Hospital to turn pink for breast cancer awareness

Indiana Health North Hospital is going pink for the month of October to raise funds for a local breast cancer organization during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can join IU Health North Hospital in the fight against breast cancer by making online donations to fund pink solar lights to be placed on IU Health North Hospital grounds in recognition of those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

Lights are $5 each and can be dedicated to honor, remember, or thank a loved one who fought breast cancer or helped a patient battle the disease. All proceeds will go to the Indiana Women In Need Foundation, a local non-profit organization assisting Indiana women and their families enduring breast cancer treatment. Pink solar lights can be dedicated online at IWINfoundation.org.

The pink solar lights will be placed on the grounds of IU Health North Hospital at 116th and North Meridian streets Friday and remain in place through Oct. 31.

IU Health North Hospital’s “turn pink” efforts extend far beyond the solar lights. Atrio, the restaurant at the hospital, will offer pink desserts throughout October; the outdoor fountains around the hospital will run pink water; and associates will wear pink medical gloves throughout the month.
