A traffic accident on I-69 March 14 led Fishers police to recover approximately $13,000 worth of cash and marijuana.

At approximately 10:48 p.m., Fishers Police Dept. officers responded to a motor vehicle crash near the 6-mile marker on I-69. Upon their arrival, officers learned one of the drivers had placed an object in the woods prior to their appearance. Officers searched the grassy area near the crash scene, ultimately discovering approximately 8 pounds of marijuana in the tree line near the interstate. The alleged owner of the marijuana, identified as Philip L. Suggs, 37, of Indianapolis, was also in possession of $5,387 in cash.

Suggs was arrested without incident and transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where he was charged with two Class D felony counts of possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
