Kindergarten: Does one size fit all?

0

Editor,

Research shows the quality of the program is more important than the number of hours spent in kindergarten. If you have had doubts about squeezing your square peg of a child into the round hole of all-day kindergarten, or if you have confidence your child will be ready for first grade without a full-day kindergarten, consider the alternatives available.  State law doesn’t even require kindergarten, let alone require children to attend an all-day program. There are quality part-time alternatives, so be sure to consider what’s best for your child. There’s no reason your child shouldn’t love kindergarten!
