Saturday is Zionsville Community Tennis Day, directed by Zionsville Community Schools’ tennis programs.
As a precursor to the U.S. Tennis Association Tennis and Junior Outdoor Tennis, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Zionsville Middle School, events for children and adults will be held in doubles tie-break formats. Middle school and high school doubles matches kick off the contests at 2 p.m. before men’s and women’s doubles take to the courts at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. brings mixed and family doubles matchesand a middle school coaches battle closes out the games at 5 p.m.
A raffle giveaway will end the festivities; racquets, bags, grips and apparel will be given away as prizes. Raffle donations, such as gift certificates and new items, will be accepted.
A $25 donation, payable in cash or by check, covers registration for all the day’s events. Donations will also be accepted from those who cannot attend. Registration runs from 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. on the day of the event, but preregistration is available by contacting event coordinators Rick Witsken ([email protected]) and Nelson Nguyen ([email protected].)
All proceeds benefit ZCS tennis programs. A rain date of May 6 has been established.
