Every year, sons, daughters and husbands everywhere are required to find a great way to treat their loved one on Mother’s Day. With so many wonderful, local restaurants and establishments across our five communities, there are lots of great options when it comes to showing that most important woman in your life how special she really is.

Brunch and tea tend to be the name of the game on Mother’s Day, but no one wants to take their family and, most importantly, their mother to a subpar or standard dining experience. Luckily, a number of local tea rooms are offering some great options.

Rita’s Backyard Garden and Tea Room in Fishers will be hosting its Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday. The intimate setting of the historic Brook’s family barn will create the perfect holiday atmosphere. Mr. Bob’s waffles, pork loin and more will be featured options for the meal. For dessert, lemon squares, pink tea cake and espresso Bundt cake will be served.

The R. L. Wilson House in Noblesville will be continuing the tradition with their 3rd annual Mother’s Day Tea. Elegant, custom tablescapes and beautiful fresh flower centerpieces will make this one of the most decadent and fanciful events of the weekend. The 5-course tea will be completed with a grand dessert finale by Heavenly Sweets.

While brunch is undoubtedly the primary tradition on Mother’s Day, there are several events going on in the area that put an interesting twist on the standard mid-morning meal.

The Indiana Transportation Museum is hosting one of the most unique events in the area. The La Bella Donna train will depart from Forest Park in Noblesville late Sunday morning. From there, it will travel north along the scenic Nickel Plate Line towards Tipton. Upon arrival, a buffet luncheon will be served at the Tipton Elks Club. The train will then depart for a relaxing return trip.

Zionsville’s Traders Point Creamery will be featuring both brunch and dinner on Sunday at its Loft Restaurant. The restaurant’s beautiful and rustic interior coupled with the beauty of the creamery itself will make for a wonderful start to the day. Dinner service will feature classic songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and more performed by local musicians Greg Anderson and Steve Quinn.

For those looking for more than the standard Mother’s Day brunch at a nearby chain restaurant, there are truly a wide array of options. Be sure to make your reservations sooner rather than later because there is nothing more nerve-racking than an approaching unplanned or gift-less holiday.
