Overnight traffic stops on US 31

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will restrict traffic on US 31 overnight Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19.  Short-term traffic stops will be required for bridge construction.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, crews from Walsh Construction will begin lifting and placing steel bridge beams over US 31 for the new southbound Keystone Parkway overpass.  The individual beams are 130 feet long and eight feet tall and must be spliced together—making them 260 feet long—before being set.

Traffic will not be permitted on the roadway during these times and will be stopped at Greyhound Pass and Range Line Road for periods of up to 20 minutes at a time.

Walsh will continue work on the southbound Keystone Parkway overpass next week and will restrict single lanes on US 31 during overnight hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Lane restrictions and short-term stoppages of Range Line Road and Clay Terrace Boulevard will also be required on Thursday, May 24 as bridge beams are set on the new southbound US 31 overpass.

All nighttime restrictions will be after 9 p.m. and will be lifted by 6 a.m. the following mornings.
