ZCS again Recognized for United Way Service

During the Zionsville Community Schools’ United Way Pacesetter Campaign last fall, ZCS employees pushed 2010 donation totals even higher to recognition as a “Company that Cares” recipient for yet another year. ZCS has participated in the annual Boone County United Way Campaign since fall of 2006. Mrs. Martha Farley coordinates the schools’ annual campaign with the help of employee captains in each school.

The 2011 United Way Campaign was a great success in Boone County and across Central Indiana. ZCS hosted the county’s annual celebration on April 18th at Boone Meadow School. ZCS Board of Trustees member Shari Alexander Richey was the keynote speaker. Mrs. Richey has served in local, regional, and national volunteer roles for UW, and her long service and commitment to the cause was a perfect match for delivering welcome and inspirational remarks at the first ever celebration hosted by ZCS.

The county campaign exceeded its goal and surpassed the $250,000 mark for the first time. ZCS was named a “TOP FIVE” campaign once again! ZCHS Senior Eric Chien was also recognized for his service to the Youth As Resources (YAR) Board of Directors. Eric has spent countless hours working with United Way and we wish him all the best as he graduates, attends college and continues to serve as a community volunteer.
