The board of directors of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce has named Julie Johns Cole their new executive director.

“We are very pleased to have such an outstanding individual represent the interests of the 350-plus member businesses who make up the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce,” said Chamber President Bryan Traylor. “Julie brings an impressive skill set to the executive director position, including a great awareness of the economic development tools and resources that are available on both the state and federal levels.”

Johns Cole most recently served as Senior Project Consultant for Indianapolis-based Thomas P. Miller & Associates LLC, a national leader in workforce and economic development consulting.

Prior to joining TPMA, Johns Cole was employed by the City of Angola (Indiana) as Economic Development and Planning Director, where she led several significant projects including the planning and implementation of a major downtown revitalization project that was recognized with a Community Impact Award by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. She was named the 2008 Business Professional of the Year by the Angola Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I am both honored and excited to be appointed as executive director,” said Johns Cole. “I look forward to growing the Zionsville Chamber, working with our members, helping our businesses prosper and advocating for our community.”

She received her Economic Development Finance Professional certification in 2011, graduated from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute in 2009, completed her master’s degree at Indiana University-Fort Wayne in 2002 and received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in 1998.

Johns Cole and her husband, Mike, are the parents of three young boys. They live in Zionsville.
