Saxony Market, a local fresh produce farmers market located in the Saxony development, will open for the season on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Saxony Market, presented by Community Health Network, is located at 131st Street and Olio Road and will feature fresh produce and a variety of specialty vendors. Saxony Market, which is now into its third season, provides an outdoor forum for family and friends alike to gather, shop, share ideas and enjoy. All vendors are Central Indiana businesses and farmers. Saxony Market will be open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. from June 2 until September 29.

Zeck’s BBQ, Wilson Farms, Big Wood Trees, Dang!Tastic Catering, Fair Farm and Produce, Girod’s Produce, Oberweis Dairy and Texy Mexy are some of the many local vendors confirmed for this year’s market. Vendors will sell fresh produce, including seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit, meat products (pork, sausages, hams, pulled pork, and beef) along with specialty items including coffee, jellies, jams, salsa, pasta and a variety of baked goods. This year Saxony Market will also offer a selection of organic produce.

“Saxony Market has been a great success,” said Sean McKinnies, Senior Vice President of Saxony Management Company.  “It connects neighbors with one another and gives local vendors a platform for distributing their product to the community.”

Weekly entertainment at Saxony Market will feature live acoustic music from Indy’s finest local bands and children’s activities. Festivities planned for the June 2 kick-off include: tethered hot air balloon rides by Midwest Balloon Rides and live music by Klarc Whitson of Zanna-doo and Jai Baker.
