IndyCar driver Simona de Silvestro visited Tom Roush Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda in Westfield during a public meet-and-greet event held inside the Mazda showroom on May 22. De Silvestro, the 2010 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year who is currently driving for HVM Racing, started and finished 32 in this year’s “greatest spectacle in racing.” Driving Lotus engines, de Silvestro and France’s Jean Alesi were black-flagged on lap 11 and pulled out of the Indianapolis 500 for going too slow. De Silvestro’s car was running 14 mph slower than the race leaders, while Alesi’s was 15 mph behind the leaders.
