Fishers road work moving forward

Current in Fishers sat down with Jeff Hill, Town of Fishers director of engineering, and Scott Fadness, town manager, last week to get an update on road construction throughout the town.

Overall Progress: According to Hill and Fadness, there have been no setbacks to any of the projects occurring throughout Fishers. Hill said the projects, in general, are moving forward and staying on schedule. The drought that continues to plague Hamilton County is great for construction conditions.

131st Street and Lantern Road Roundabout: Hill said the Town of Fishers is putting the wraps on certain aspects of the project. He couldn’t give an exact date of completion for the project, but said it should be finished up by the end of July.

96th Street and Allisonville Road “Michigan Left:” The project that is tying up a stretch of Allisonville Road is still on target to finish in November.

I-69 construction and INDOT: Hill approached INDOT to work on possible solutions for traffic backups on northbound I-69. He said the construction on the thoroughfare has diverted traffic all over town and impacts town-led projects.

Ind. 37 Corridor: The handful of projects taking place throughout the Ind. 37 corridor are “essentially complete,” according to Hill. Work is about to begin at the 141st Street intersection and new construction for the road to Britton Park Drive will start later this summer.
