Get in Shape for Women, a new exercise center that touts customized personal training, opened at 11720 Olio Rd. this month.

The location is owned by David VanWye, who also operates another branch of the franchise out neighboring Carmel. VanWye said the franchise has approximately 100 locations across the nation.

VanWye said he chose to expand to Fishers based on demographics and especially considering the positive press Fishers has received on a national scale in the past.

“It’s a good fit for our type of business,” he said.

Get in Shape for Women’s mission is simple. VanWye noted that Indiana is one of the most obese states in the nation – and the business is out to change that one client at a time.

His centers offer small group personal training (there are up to four women in each group), nutrition consultation and accountability.

Emma Dunn, Fishers studio manager, is one of the certified personal trainers on staff.

“It’s really rewarding,” she said. “It’s fun to help people change their lives and become more healthy.”

VanWye said there will be an open house for the business in September, but the specifics are to be announced. For more information call 348-8600.
