Development director announces downtown redevelopment

Editor,

I just finished reading your article in our July 24th “CURRENT”, regarding the “Community development director announces downtown redevelopment”.  Here’s a suggestion that Tom Dickey perhaps didn’t think about….

There are 2 “virtually empty” strip malls within a few short blocks of Town Hall.  Instead of tearing up the these parcels of land to put up more expensive building projects (that I presume all citizens of Fishers will have to pay for) for shops & “luxury apartments”, why not invest the time and effort AND the money into drawing more business to the virtually empty strip centers. Fishers is overloaded with apartments now, and there is no need for “luxury” apartments.
