Senior Book Talks

Aug. 27

2:30 p.m.

Two Adult Services Librarians will lead a brief book talk highlighting a selection of titles during this ongoing event for interested adults 55 and older. Seniors may meet in the Large Print area on the second floor of the Library. Sessions will continue on Mondays, every three weeks. Watch for dates to be announced each month in the Library newsletter or online at www.zionsville.lib.in.us.

Sidewalk Chalk

2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Students in Grades 2 – 5

Come and spend an hour beautifying our library sidewalks. If it rains, we’ll draw on the “floors” inside the Mayfield Rooms.

 

Books Over Coffee

Noon

Adults may enjoy a casual discussion about the book(s) they have recently read. Bring your lunch, bring a friend. Coffee and a sweet treat will be provided Registration is not required for this drop-in program.

The Fall I Storytime Session will be Sept. 10 – Oct. 12.  Sign-up for this session begins on Wed., Aug. 22 at 8 AM for HMMPL cardholders.  Non-cardholders may begin registering at 8 AM Wed., Aug. 29.

 

Puppet Show

Library Closed for Staff Training

Fri., Aug. 24

The Library will be closed all day Friday, August 24 so staff may attend a full day of training. Regular hours will resume at 9:30 AM Saturday, August 25. All digital services will be available during the closing at www.zionsville.lib.in.us.

End of Summer Shelf Reading Party

Individuals 14 and older

Summer reading is over and the shelves could use some tidying up!  The Youth Services Staff is having a shelf reading party on Friday, August 31, 9:30 AM – 5 PM to get the books in the children’s section back in order.  If you are an adult or a teen at least 14 years old, know your ABC’s and 1,2,3’s, and would like to help us accomplish this humongous task in one day, we could use your talents!  We will also be offering pizza and salad for lunch, and snacks at other times of the day to keep us going. If you would like to volunteer for this one-time project, sign up on our website (www.zionsville.lib.in.us), or call Youth Services (873-8342) to register. Whether it’s for a few hours or all day, we can use you for this important project!

 

Library Closed Labor Day

The Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day Monday, Sept. 3. Regular hours will resume at 9:30 AM Tuesday, Sept. 4.All digital services will be available during the closing at www.zionsville.lib.in.us.
