Local counselor to hold bullying intervention program tomorrow
Carlabeth Mathias of Mathias Counseling and Consulting is holding a program titled “No More Bullies! A Program for Parents and the Community” tomorrow at the Fishers YMCA in the Community Room at 6:30 p.m. Different types of bullying, signs on if a child is a target or a bully and the actions to take in those types of situations are the topics for the session. The work shop is for adults and childcare is provided. The cost is $10 per family if a member of the Fishers YMCA and $15 for the public or non-members. Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force makes drug dealing arrest in Fishers
A woman was arrested at the 9900 block of Westpoint Drive on multiple charges including a B Felony –dealing a controlled substance. The arrest came at the end of three month-long investigation. The Indianapolis woman arrested and accused, Kayla Powell, 24,was charged with one count of B Felony (dealing a controlled substance, in this case hydrocodone), six counts of D Felony (possession of hydrocodone), one count of D Felony (possession of Xanax) and six counts of D Felony (theft). The task force is made of officers from Carmel Police Department, FPD, Lebanon Police Department, The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Zionsville Police Department. The Hamilton and Boone County Prosecutor’s offices lend their support to the task force.
Fishers residents nab promotions with Somerset CPAs
Fishers residents Debbie Williams and Lori Ehlin gained promotions with Indianapolis-based public certified public accounting and professional services firm Somerset CPAs, PC. Ehlin has worked with Somerst since 2004, and in the past worked for Special Olympics Indiana. She is a co-vice president of the Fishers Elementary PTO. Williams has been with Somerset since 1996. Williams is the treasurer of the Ind. State Council for the Society of Human Resources Management.
