CSO announces annual Young Artist Competition

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra announces the 32nd Annual CSO Young Artists Competition, sponsored by Meridian Music and the CSO League.

The winner will be featured at the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s Feb. 3, 2013 Family Fun! performance in the Palladium and also receives a $1,000 cash award provided by Meridian Music. The first runner-up will receive $500 and second runner-up receives $250, provided by the CSO League.

The CSO Young Artist Competition encourages and allows young musicians from Central Indiana to compete at the highest level of technical excellence with peers from their age groups. Eligibility requirements include students up to and including grade 12 and must be a resident of one of the following counties: Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Shelby or Tipton.

Entry forms with further information and requirements are available at Meridian Music, 12725 Old Meridian St., the Carmel-Clay Public Library, 55 Fourth Ave. SE or via carmelsymphony.org.

Completed materials must be postmarked by Friday, November 2. Finalists will be announced via Facebook on Nov. 19 at facebook.com/carmelsymphony.
