INDOT contractors will restrict one lane of traffic on US 31 tonight

Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor, will close the right lane of southbound US 31 between 146th Street and Range Line Road at 9 p.m. to allow room for equipment and workers just south of the new southbound flyover ramp to Keystone Parkway.  The restriction is expected to end before 6 a.m. Thursday.  One lane for southbound traffic will remain open during the overnight operation.

Two lanes of traffic in each direction currently share the west side of US 31 as Walsh reconstructs northbound lanes and a new exit ramp to 146th Street.  INDOT and Walsh expect to shift northbound traffic to new pavement and open the 146th Street exit ramp in November.
