I was dismayed by John Collier’s letter in the Nov. 20 Current suggesting that “theocratic, anti-science, racist, sexist, anti-environment, war monger[ing]…anti-intellectual ideas” are “more suited for a Middle Eastern country.” Surely these are not the principal themes anyone should associate with the Middle East, where people have been laying down their lives in the struggle with many of these “ideas” for a long time.
