Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame seeks nominations

COM-Hall of FameWestfield Washington Schools is seeking nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame committee is accepting nominations of Westfield High School graduates who have made significant contributions to their community and profession.

The deadline for submitting a nominee is Feb. 8 and requirements for eligibility include:

• The nominee must have graduated from Westfield High School at least five years ago.

• The nominee must have a special achievement in their area of specialty and/or received honors, awards or other recognition on a local, regional, national or international level.

• The nominee must have demonstrated leadership, character and service to society in general or to a specific segment of society.

• Nominations for posthumous awards are accepted.

The Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame was established as part of the district’s focus on the development of lifelong learning. It was created to honor individuals whose actions, leadership and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life’s work, service to their communities, and who have inspired praise and gratitude among peers.

Each inductee will be honored with a plaque highlighting their accomplishments to be hung in the atrium at Westfield High School.

Previous inductees include Nels Ackerson (Class of 1962), Celia Fields Adolphi (Cass of 1961), Malcolm Bray (Class of 1934), John Carey (Class of 1972), Larue Carter (Class of 1898), Don Day (Class of 1946), Chris Denari (Class of 1979), Joe Edwards (Class of 1958), Parker Hinshaw (Class of 1967), Steven Norris (Class of 1975), Victor Overman (Class of 1940), David Riese II (Class of 1983), Allan “Red” Stanley (Class of 1932) and Stephen Wooldridge (Class of 1985).
