Eight Carmel football players recently were selected by the Indiana Football Coaches Association for Academic All State status. An award ceremony was held to honor the students at Pendleton Heights High School on March 4. The ceremony featured Bill Lynch, coach of DePauw, as a guest speaker.

To be eligible for Academic All State status, a high school football player must be a senior, must have played in at least 70 percent of his games, must have a minimum GPA of 3.4 and must have a minimum SAT score of 1660 or a minimum ACT score of 24.
