This fall, works by FCI students will be published in Young American Poetry Digest. According to a news release, 19 sixth-graders’ and two fifth-graders’ works were selected to be published this October. Sixth-graders Paige Martin, Chelsea Stockberger, Katelyn Hartman, Marissa Boyd, Jackson Moore, Phoebe Mack, Meric Haase, Lucy Martin, Hazel Burris, Truman Skinner, Payton Nurre, Audrey Andritsch, Zaina Hussain, Amanda Mullett, Terry Hicks, Gabby Combs, Kieran Parks, Victor Eckert and Alexa Coble and fifth-graders Sami Seifferlein and Nikki Hite (who co-wrote one poem) are the authors set to be published. Teachers Tiffany Becher and Lori Knecht submitted the works to the National Schools Project, which aims to get young poets opportunities to be published, according to the release.
