The Carmel High School Girls Soccer Team will take on Guerin High School at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the CHS Murray Stadium. The JV team will play at 5 p.m. The game is honoring 30 years of soccer at Carmel and 20 years of sanctioned girls soccer at IHSAA. All past CHS players are invited to come and be introduced at half time of the varsity game. Funds will also be raised for the DeWayne Akin Memorial Scholarship in memory of his 23 years of assistant coaching and 35 years as a principal in CCS. Proceeds from a T-shirt sale will go to the scholarship fund for a graduating senior who attended Woodbrook Elementary School where Akin was principal.
