(Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Jan Michelsen, a Fishers resident and shareholder in the firm’s Indianapolis office, has been formally inducted into the Litigation Counsel of America.

A veteran litigator with nearly 20 years of experience, Michelsen concentrates her practice in counseling and defending management in labor and employment law matters, including employment discrimination litigation, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charges and complaints, sexual harassment, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. She also counsels employers in the area of employment contract disputes, employee privacy issues, social media, electronic communications, wage and hour issues, wrongful discharge claims, and other state tort claims, such as defamation. Michelsen also has been involved in labor relations, union avoidance training and campaigns, arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.

An experienced speaker, Michelsen regularly lectures on employment law topics to organizations including the Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana Chamber and Widener University School of Law. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law.
