Zionsville Community High School graduates are being recognized for outstanding academic and extracurricular activities while at university.

  • Andrew Breuninger, son of James and Julie Breuninger, Zionsville, appeared in Lawrence University’s recent (March 6-8) production of Kurt Weill’s opera “Street Scene,” a day-long snapshot of life in a “mean” quarter of New York City. Premiering in 1947, the opera follows the Maurrant family — Anna, unhappily married to the brutish stagehand Frank, and their two children, Rose and Willie — and their neighbors through an exceptionally hot 24-hour period in the summer of 1929. Breuninger portrayed Carl Olsen, a Swedish neighbor. He is a 2010 graduate of Zionsville Community School.

 

  • Carson Lewis Kennedy of Zionsville has been named a new Samford University Ambassador for the 2014-15 academic year. Ambassadors serve as hosts at campus events, interact with university constituents and represent the university in a variety of settings. Kennedy is a Journalism Mass Communication major.The 31-member Ambassador team works closely with the Samford President’s Office and the Office of University Advancement. New ambassadors are chosen each spring on the basis of grades, leadership skills, public speaking ability, enthusiasm for Samford, personality and other qualities.

 

  • Meredith Kovener of Zionsville was named to the Fall 2013 Dean’s List at The University of Findlay. To earn this achievement, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
