This week, the Indiana Department of Education released its list of more than 300 schools statewide that reached a four-star status for the school year of 2012-13.

Schools earn a four-star status after final ISTEP scores are submitted. Each four star school must be in the top 25th percentile of ISTEP scores.

“I am honored to name these schools as our Four Star Schools for this year. Winning this award required excellent work by teachers, administrators, students and parents throughout the year and on behalf of the entire Indiana Department of Education I send them my sincere congratulations,” said State Superintendent, Glenda Ritz, in an e-mail to Current in Zionsville.

More than 100 of the 311 schools in the state that received a four-star-status are in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Zionsville, Carmel, Brownsburg and Noblesville are all on the list.
