INDOT contractors plan to temporarily close access to and from Smokey Row Road at Old Meridian Street to construct a roundabout.
The 60-day closure is scheduled to begin the night of June 12.
Traffic on Old Meridian and 136th Street will be shifted and lane designations will be adjusted to accommodate construction of the roundabout. Access to Smokey Row Road will remain available from Range Line Road during the closure.
INDOT also plans to begin restricting one lane at the top of the ramp from the westbound I-465 exit to U.S. 31/Meridian Street beginning June 23.
The exit ramp will have two left turn lanes and two right turn lanes onto U.S. 31/Meridian Street. The traffic shifts will require overnight restrictions on the ramps from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as contractors modify pavement markings.
The ramp configuration is expected to remain in place through the end of this year.
