Tania Castroverde Moskalenko, President/CEO at the Center for the Performing Arts, announced today the appointment of Diane Syrcle as the Center’s Vice President of Development. Syrcle, of Portland, Oregon, will assume her duties Oct. 13.

“After a thorough search, I am delighted to welcome such an accomplished arts professional to our organization. Diane brings a wealth of expertise to the Center’s fundraising department. Her enthusiasm for our mission is matched only by her excitement to build a program that will sustain the Center for the Performing Arts for generations to come. I look forward to welcoming her to Central Indiana,” said Castroverde Moskalenko.

Syrcle comes to the Center from the Oregon Symphony, where she has served as Executive Vice President for Development since 2012. Under Syrcle’s leadership during the past two years,  the Oregon Symphony attracted 1,200 new donors, received grant funding from nine new foundations, including a capacity building grant to add staff in Development and Marketing. Additionally, she increased online donations by 159 percent.

Prior to joining the Oregon Symphony, Syrcle was the Executive Director for Oregon Ballet Theater for two years, and Executive Director of the Portland Youth Philharmonic from 2003 until 2012. She served as Director of Education at Portland Opera for seven years following a career as a professional opera singer. Syrcle holds an MBA from Marylhurst University, a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s of Music/Music Education from West Texas A&M University.
