Carmel police seek help in theft case

The following is a notice sent from Lt. Joe Bickel  of Carmel Police Department:

On Tuesday, October 28th, at approximately 5:20 a.m., Carmel Police responded to a theft in progress call at 12450 Pennsylvania Street. A witness described seeing two black males wearing hoodies running from the victim’s vehicle. The suspects left the area in a white pickup truck.

Carmel Police located the suspect vehicle (a white Ford F-150) in the area of Meridian/116th Street. A traffic stop was attempted in the area of southbound Meridian Street/ I-465, but the suspects refused to stop. Carmel Police pursued the suspect vehicle south on Meridian Street. The pursuit was terminated in the area of Kessler/Meridian.

It was later discovered that approximately 20 vehicles were broken into in the Lakes of Carmel Apts., Penn Circle Apts. & the Courtyard of Marriott parking lots. The victim’s vehicles had their windows smashed and subsequently a variety of electronics, laptops, cash and credit cards were stolen.

Police are asking that if anyone has information on these thefts or the suspect vehicle to contact the Carmel Police Department Investigations Division at 571-2511 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana 317-262-8477 (TIPS).
