A trip around the world wouldn’t be complete without the appropriate feasting, and neither would a trip around Carmel.

Carmel-based catering company Small Potatoes Exceptional Events is hosting the first-ever Carmel-centric Indie Indy Foodie Tours this month.  Deemed a “culinary adventure” by Small Potatoes owner Karen Kennedy, this tour includes being chauffeured in a luxury motor coach to four restaurants in one night. With the help of Integrity Limousines of Carmel, a 16-person motor coach will transport guests from the first restaurant to three more.

“There will be different cuisines as well as different restaurants,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy said this idea has been on her mind for a while, because she wanted to get “people to try locally independent restaurants.”

“Sometimes you want to try these places but you only have one night, so this way you can visit several and try several dishes in one night,” she said.

All meals are served tapas-style, so that the touring epicureans can try a variety of flavors during the night.

“They will be shareable portions, not small portions,” Kennedy said. “It’s not a progressive dinner with appetizers at one restaurant and dinner at the next, it’s more like have three savory meals and then a dessert, because the last stop will always be dessert.”

The next tours is from 6 to 10 p.m., Nov. 20. This month’s tours will take guests to Jersey’s Café, J. Razzo’s, Upland Brewing Company and Chocolate for the Spirit. Cost is $95 per person, and does not include beverages. Private tours can be arranged for groups of 14 to 32 people, and gift certificates are available.

Kennedy said tours will expand to Noblesville and the rest of Hamilton County in January.
