Letter: Stop the Auman Drive stop

Editor,

So, Luci Snyder asks, ‘What would you do?’

The council should remove the sign for Auman and see how it works. Presently it is the only stop sign on 126th Street despite similar conditions on several other 126th Street intersections east of Range Line.

Similarly, there are no stop signs on 98th, 116th, Main, Smoky Row or 146th Street. There are two stop signs on 16th (Haverstick and Lakeshore Drive East). The critical point is that is you look at a city map, there are many more intersections with the same or greater concerns than Auman with heavier traffic than 126th. Many of these people off of 116th, 126th, and 96th face ‘bottlenecking’ to get on the arteries ‘During Rush Hour’ as bad or worse than Auman. Ironically, most of these are in Luci’s district.

See how Auman contends without a stop sign as the rest of these streets. Perhaps the council should put it up to public referendum.
