Flash flood watch in Zionsville to last until Saturday

The National Weather Service of Indianapolis has issued a flash flood watch from noon Friday, June 26 until the evening of Saturday, June 27 in Zionsville and the surrounding Boone County area.

Heavy rainfall is expected to occur again this afternoon and last until at least tomorrow morning. The NWS released a statement noting that two-to-three inches of rain could fall in “a short amount of time.”

Central Indiana has received up to six inches of rain in some areas already this week. The NWS warns drivers that more rain could cause ponds to form on roads quickly because the ground is more susceptible to runoff.
