Noblesville Fireworks Festival and parade celebrate Independence Day
By Anna Skinner
Any in attendance at the Noblesville Fireworks Festival on the Fourth of July can expect a plethora of events, music and a parade from 5 to 10 p.m.
Beginning at 5 p.m. at 16th and Harrison Streets, Grand Marshall Steve Nation, Hamilton County’s Honorable Superior Court #1 judge, and his grandson, Michael Bennett, will be riding in a Hare Chevrolet convertible to lead the parade of marching bands, organizations, sports teams, businesses and more through the streets of downtown Noblesville.
Immediately after the parade has come to an end, the crowd is welcome to migrate to the Noblesville High School campus, where an abundance of activities will be available throughout the evening. Including face painters, balloon artists, inflatable games, a rock climbing wall, a photo booth, carnival activities, food vendors and more, the activities will wind down at 10 p.m. for guests to enjoy the annual fireworks show.
“We try to improve every year upon the activities we provide the community with,” said Robert Herrington, public affairs manager for the City of Noblesville. “Each year we’ve been seeing more people in attendance. We’ve got a lot of fun activities planned we think the community will enjoy.”
After an absence of the activities, the Fourth of July celebrations returned to Noblesville in 1997 and have been happening ever since. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed, and all volunteers receive a free meal and a raffle ticket for a volunteer-only raffle.
