A semi-truck driver died late Sept. 9 after he was hit by a car while standing in the roadway next to his vehicle.
The accident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on State Road 32, where a semi-truck driven by Syel Y. Mohammed, 31, of Mt. Washington, Ky., was stopped in the road facing eastbound and blocking both lanes. Mohammed was standing in the road when he was struck by a 2007 Buick driven by Mark Sheller, 64, of Lebanon. Mohammed was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Road 32 was closed for about three hours as law enforcement officials investigated the crash. The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is continuing to look into the incident.
