On Sept. 28 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Fishers Police Department responded to an automobile crash involving a truck and a pedestrian at the southbound lanes of State Road 37 north of 135th Street.

Paramedics from the Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services arrived at the scene and determined that the pedestrian, Katherine A. Milliner, 39, Fishers, was deceased. The driver, William T. Cowart, 61, was not injured.

According to the statements taken from Cowart and other witnesses, Cowart was traveling southbound on Ind. 37 when Milliner appeared in the road. Cowart was unable to avoid striking Milliner. Cowart proceeded to stop and call 911 immediately after the collision.

This investigation is still on-going and more details will be released as they become available.
