Announced Oct. 26 by the City of Noblesville, Ind. 32 will have temporary lane restrictions beginning in the early morning of Oct. 29 for up to four days.

Traffic will be shifted to the two most southern lanes — one westbound lane and one eastbound lane — for approximately two blocks around John Street.

City Project Manager Jim Hellmann said the Indiana Department of Transportation has approved four consecutive days of restrictions, but said he is hopeful it will only take two days to complete, weather permitting.

The restriction will allow crews to make a new 8-inch connection, clean it for 24 hours with chlorine, test it, disconnect the old 2-inch connection when the new line passes and then pave back the excavated areas for new connection and disconnection. The water main size increase will provide better flow and shutoffs and adds two fire hydrants on John Street for better fire service protection.

Because the work zone is located near the John Street entrance of Riverview Health, officials are asking the public to use the entrance at the Ind. 32/Ind. 38 intersection, just west of the construction to prevent traffic congestion. The north side of John Street is currently closed as utility work is underway there.
