Where’s Amy: Fantastic Food Fest

“Where’s Amy?”  … I was hanging out at the ‘Fantastic Food Festival’ at the Indiana State Fairgrounds which was jammed packed with local Indiana companies, celebrity chefs and foodies. I loved mingling with local company owners and sampling their delicious products. The highlight was meeting Celebrity Chef and host of Food Network’s ‘Chopped” Ted Allen (Who is an Carmel High School Alumni) and his lovely mother Donna Adams of Carmel. Adams was beaming with sheer joy as her son took the stage and gave tips as he cooked for a large crowd of fans. I scored one of his cookbooks which he playfully signed “I Found Her! – Go Amy!” … Allen said he loves catching up on old friends by reading Current and is now a big fan of “Where’s Amy?” What an honor meeting celebrity chefs Hugh Acheson and Loreal Gavin plus my local favorite pals/chefs Heather Tallman, Regina Mehallick and Craig Baker. The Fantastic Food Festival was a great place to sample and buy products. I loved highlighting all of my favorite hot spots including B.Happy Peanut Butter, Hoosier Momma, BeeFree, Chocolate for the Spirit and Neighborhood Pizza. I also made a deal with Midwest Ballon Rides owner Tony Sandlin to do a “Where’s Amy?” from there air… not to mention I am afraid of heights. Until then – please continue to shop and support our local companies.
