Ruth E. Fitzgerald, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Feb. 28. Ruth was born in Daviess County on Jan. 12, 1924, to John and Rose Conlon Hughes and previously lived in Carmel.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on Oct. 28, 2015; five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Sharon), Stanley, Vicci (Michael), John (Patty), Kathy (Tony), Diane and Karen (Herb); 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated March 4 at noon with visitation at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. A committal service will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
