A sold-out crowd at the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation’s fourth annual Game Day fundraiser event brought in more than $100,000 for the district’s schools.

This year’s signature fundraising event for the HSE Schools Foundation was Feb. 26 at Conner Prairie. Food, drinks, a well-stocked silent auction and the opportunity to meet Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman and HSEHS alum Joe Rietz were among the evening’s entertainment.

The event nearly doubled its fundraising efforts from a year ago.

“We expect to net just over $81,000 after expenses, which we believe will allow funding about 85 percent of the teacher grants that were submitted,” school board member and liaison to the Foundation Howard Stevenson said. “Those grants will be announced and the recipients recognized at the March 23 board meeting.”

The grants will be awarded to district faculty who applied to the Foundation for funding to bring new, interesting and unique educational programs and ideas into classrooms.
