Flu restrictions end at IU Health

0

Flu-related visitor restrictions at IU Health North Hospital, IU Health Saxony Hospital and IU Health Tipton Hospital have come to an end due to decreasing flu activity. Regular hospital visitation policies  resume today, Wednesday, April 13. Other IU Health facilities across the state under flu-related visitor restrictions, including IU Health Methodist Hospital, IU Health University Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children have also ended restrictions.

Because children, especially premature babies, are at higher risk of serious complications if they get the flu, Riley at IU Health North and Riley at IU Health will continue to limit visitors to its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) until further notice. Restriction updates for the Riley NICU will be posted on Pulse.

The visitor restriction policy was implemented by all Marion County hospitals on March 11 at the recommendation of the Marion County Public Health Department after flu activity reached its highest level.
