Craving Chicago eateries like Schoops or Smashburger?

Rush on Main plans to bring Chicago to Zionsville when it opens in early June. Italian beef, chopped salads, Chicago hot dogs and burgers will be part of the menu at 112 S. Main Street.

“I just love the food,” said co-owner Jeff Sepiol, who grew up outside of Chicago and wanted to bring a taste of that area to central Indiana. “I think the food would go off anywhere but it makes me sleep a little easier at night knowing that Northern Indianapolis has a lot of transplants.”

The restaurant’s name harkens from Chicago’s Rush Street.

Sepiol had mulled the possibility of opening a restaurant for a while but the timing or locations weren’t right. Moving to Zionsville he met Johnny Vargo and his family and realized that he might have found a partner and co-owner.

“He’s a foodie guy as well,” Sepiol said.

Also on the menu is roast beef that will be thinly sliced on the premises so that it doesn’t dry out. Hoosier Momma products will be featured in the Bloody Mary bar.

The family-friendly restaurant will have a kids area with games. While not a sports bar, the owners plan to show Chicago sports on the several televisions along with Colts and Pacers.

“There’s going to be a lot of Cubs baseball on this summer,” he said.

The upstairs location has been home to several restaurants over the past decade and underwent a renovation a year ago before opening as the Village Kitchen.

“It is the coolest interior that I’ve been in on the brick street,” Sepiol said. “I just think the interior is so pretty. It’s awesome.”
