Commentary by Amy Pauszek

I attended the Dalai Lama public talk in Indianapolis at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Three organizations; the Indiana Buddhist Center, Compassionate Indy and Center for Interfaith Cooperation, came together to bring the Dalai Lama’s message of compassion and harmony to a sold out crowd. Guests were treated to the sounds of the Zionsville Drum Troop, two beautiful songs performed by under the direction of Paulo Castro, a Coliseum Legacy video produced by Ray Mills, an Indian classical dance, which led up to an introduction to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks (Carmel). VIP guests included KP Singh and family (Indianapolis), Gurinder Singh Khalsa (Fishers), Marilene Isaacs Kauffman (Westfield), William Wending (Carmel) and Raju Chintala (Carmel). Words cannot describe the emotion and gratitude I felt after leaving a once in a lifetime opportunity to photograph such a powerful worldwide leader. The Dalai Lama spoke about the value of generating compassion and loving kindness in our hearts and homes as well as our communities, both locally and globally. Everyone who attended left with a new mission of spreading peace, harmony and compassion. A truly magical day was had by all who attended.
