Donna M. Freeman, 74, of Carmel, died June 30 at St. Vincent’s Hospice. She was born in Indianapolis in 1941.

On St. Patrick’s Day in 1957 Donna met Michael Freeman and the two were married the following year. Donna committed her life to loving and caring for Mike and raising their son, Vincent. In the late ’70s she managed a well-known gift shop at Keystone at the Crossing.

Two years ago, after being diagnosed with peritoneal cancer, Donna returned to Indiana to be close to family. Even while fighting her own chronic illness, Donna continued to serve as Mike’s primary caregiver until Lewy-Body Syndrome took him in April of this year. Since his death, Donna has looked forward to being united with her life’s love in eternity.

Survivors include her son, Vince; granddaughters, Chelsea and Haley; and great-grand children, Madison, Asher and Mason.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. July 16 at Church for the Nations in Carmel.  Those wishing to pay respects can make a donation to The St. Vincent’s Hospice Center in Donna’s name.
