2016 Program Series: Johnny Appleseed Fest ● In honor of the Indiana Bicentennial 2016, the Carmel Clay Public Library is organizing a year-long series of events celebrating Hoosier history. The next event is entitled the Johnny Appleseed Fest. Rain on Main ● Beautifully painted rain barrels will be on display along Main Street, beginning with the IU Health North Gallery Walk. Carmel Celebration of Bands ● This free concert is a collaboration of many talented musicians in the Indiana Wind Symphony and will spotlight a variety of band performances, all the way from Mozart to Dixieland. This family-friendly event demonstrates and celebrates the influence of music throughout generations. Lydia Hawkins’ Funeral Reenactment at Conner Prairie ● Prairietown’s beloved Lydia Hawkins has died following the birth of her latest child, leaving behind her husband and several children. Join the citizens of Prairietown as they share stories about Lydia. There will be sample funeral biscuits and shape-note singing, a style of 19th-century hymns. District Brew Fest ● Enjoy some of the best rock music and best beers at the BrewFest this weekend! Approximately 20 brewers will feature their best selections.
