“(Fertig) has just released a new (novel) called ‘The Memory of Lemon,’”  CCPL Foundation Director Elizabeth Hamilton said. “The premise of this book is all about how lemon affects you in different ways — your memory, your emotions, your life.”

Fertig will speak about the book, sign copies and participate in a Q&A session.

“We’ll be selling her most recent book, but we’re also going to be selling her other novel, ‘The Cake Therapist,’ because ‘The Memory of Lemon’ is a little bit of a follow-up to that one,” Hamilton said. “They do go hand in hand.”

Books will sell for $16. Part of the proceeds benefit the CCPL Foundation.

Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy food related to ‘The Memory of Lemon.’

“We have a volunteer committee who runs our visiting author series, and they will be making some lemon recipes out of one of Judith’s cookbooks,” Hamilton said. “They’ll be serving her lemon orzo recipe for lunch, her lemon pound cake for dessert and her picnic lemonade to the people who attend.”

The luncheon is free but guests should register in advance.

“Our motto is always the more the merrier. We like to bring in authors because we like to expose our community to as many authors as possible,” Hamilton said. “We’re very, very excited to host Judith and have her present here at the library about her new book.”
