Concerts on the Central Green — Give yourself something to look forward to on “humpdays” during lunch this month. Fishers Parks & Recreation for Concerts on the Central Green is presented by Meyer Najem Construction and provides entertainment while you enjoy a picnic with co-workers. Flat Fork Creek Park Mt. Bike Skills Clinics — Learn the basics of mountain biking in this mountain bike clinic for kids. Flat Fork Creek is an ideal location for newcomers to the sport. Students will be taught the basics of mountain biking to become confident and successful riders on the trail. Participants must be age 12 or older or must have completed at least one intro/beginner program in August. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time. Hobbit Day Feast — First breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper, dessert. All-in-all, that’s eight meals. Get into the spirit of the Hobbit by following their eating habits and even dressing to character. Best costumes (from the books and films) will receive prizes. Book early to reserve your place. Prairie Tykes: Apples, Apples, Apples — Parents and grandparents can connect one-on-one with your little ones (ages 3-6) while you make crafts, dance, sing and take part in the special activity of the day during Prairie Tykes events. Enjoy apple activities and crafts followed by a hayride (weather permitting). Younger siblings are welcome, ages 2 and up  require a ticket. Children must be accompanied by an adult at no charge. Westfield Playhouse: The Dealer Smiles — Written by, directed by and starring local playwright Larry Adams, “The Dealer Smiles” is the story of a search for one man’s place in life, with the assistance of a stranger who seems to be holding all the cards. This play is one in a series celebrating Indiana’s bicentennial through highlighting local playwrights and plays. Oktoberfest at Saxony — This festival, held at Witten Park, offers German food, a beer garden, live music, art and craft vending, games for kids and other activities. The culture  event strives to bring the community together to celebrate German food and heritage in  the City of Fishers. The Belfry Theatre: Girls of the Garden Club — As the name suggests, “Girls of the Garden Club” is a hilarious play dealing with the vicarious ladies whose lives revolve around the often outlandish doings of the local garden club, while humorously bringing to mind personalities which you may encounter in your day-to-day life. 19th Carmel International Arts Festival — With over 130 juried artists presenting exhibits implementing watercolor, oil, 2D, jewelry, photography, 3D, wood, sculpture, pottery and other techniques, this festival is sure to be a hit. An array of food and activities will be available, including face painting and a caricature artist for kids. There’s a little something for everyone. Prairie Pursuits at Conner Prairie — Adults who are nature lovers, photographers, painters or bird watchers are welcome to explore Conner Prairie’s beautiful grounds before regular business hours in order to have an especially serene experience. Take photos, paint, sketch, hike or just relax. Professional photographers and artists are welcome. All photographs and works of art must be for personal use only. Waivers for artists will be available at the ticket desk. If you want to explore the grounds after 10 a.m., you must purchase an admission ticket. Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli” De Veracruz — Considered one of Mexico’s great cultural treasures, the Xalapa-based dance company has been dedicated to illustrating the region’s signature dance styles since 1985. The company takes its name from Veracruz’s vibrantly plumed native Quetzal bird. Join the  enter in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with this colorful, joyous fiesta. Learn to Ice Skate — The Carmel International Ice Skating Academy is offering a comprehensive group class that is fun, rewarding and safe. Whether you want to learn the basics or are training competitively, these structured lessons are a great place to start. Open to ages 3 through adult.
