Riverview Health has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry-GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2016.

The health organization is one of only 223 hospitals nationwide to receive award.

“It’s an honor to receive this award once again. More importantly, it’s a well-deserved recognition for our hardworking heart and vascular team members,” Tammi Nash, executive director of Nursing Operations at Riverview Health, stated in a press release. “By successfully implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients, we’re able to improve their outcomes, which is the greatest reward for us.”

To receive the award, a certain level of treatment guidelines had to be implemented for eight consecutive quarters. The implementation of these guidelines requires coordination of the heart and vascular team and emergency personnel to save the lives and improve outcomes of heart attack patients.
