St.Vincent Sports Performance partnered with Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse at Grand Park to offer onsite sports performance services to athletes and the general public. It is the first sports performance facility to do so locally.
The 4,000-square-foot facility will be connected to Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse, 200 E. 186th St., and offers access to SVSP strength and conditioning coaches, dieticians and athletic trainers. The fieldhouse is 88,000 square feet with eight indoor basketball/volleyball courts.
“Our goal is to help every athlete perform to their maximum potential, and our groundbreaking partnership with Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse will expand the number of athletes we are able to train,” SVSP Executive Director Ralph Reiff stated in a press release sent to Current. “We also believe all parents, coaches and organizers should have the peace of mind that elite-level athletic trainers are on site every day to take care of any athletic injuries that occur.”
SVSP also has locations in northwest Indianapolis and Clay Terrace in Carmel, and it is set to open another location next year at the St.Vincent Center near Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
“We are taking the concept of athlete safety, training and development at a local sports facility to the next level, and I don’t know any other sports facility in the United States that is doing something like this,” Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse CEO Andy Card stated. “We want to be the best, and we want to be different. Partnering with SVSP allows us to do that.”
